We hope to persuade you that these free and fair refreshments are also very tasty, and that they are readily available in the Northallerton area.

You may sometimes have to pay slightly more for these products, but using them is a direct and effective way of helping the producers in developing countries.

Please change your shopping habits and swap to fairtrade wherever you can.

Whilst you enjoy your refreshments there will be a programme of short talks and videos, together with a fashion show of fairly traded clothes at 11am.

We are grateful to those who have actively supported this event including the Co-op, Tescos, Barkers, Maxwells, The Town Council and members of the local churches.

Northallerton - a Fairtrade Town ?
The Town Council has already passed a motion supporting the idea of Northallerton becoming a Fairtrade Town.

What`s needed to make this happen is for more businessesand organisations to commit to using fairtrade products.

Does your business/workplace/voluntary organisation/school or church use fairtrade refreshments ?

If not, could you consider making this commitment ?

After all, if Marks & Spencers can turn over the whole of their coffee shop business to fairtrade coffee, there must be someting in it !

Barkers in-store restaurant
The first establishment in Northallerton to have Fairtrade tea and coffee option on its permanent menu. The first 85 customers today will receive a voucher for a free cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee at Barkers
